Center Point Assembly "Mission Statement"

In the fall of 2009, the Pastor presented this mission statement to the Church as a perspective of the way we should live our daily lives.  As time continues on and Jesus’ return nears, we are reminded that our daily activities really make a difference not only for the few years that we walk this earth, but also, and more importantly, for the infinite years of eternity.  Therefore, as each person reads this mission statement that we are to be:

“Heavenly Effective thru Earthly Relevance”

and makes it their own personal prayer, we will live our lives with a “relevance” to reach our community for Christ.  And as we do, we will “effectively” be preparing ourselves to hear the words of Jesus say to each of us as it says in:

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

With this common perspective and mission, we will accomplish our part in fulfilling “The Great Commission” to spread the gospel to all peoples of our world.

What is our Purpose at Center Point?

The "Purpose" of Center Point Assembly to help us fulfill our "Mission" is simply:

                                               "To Know Jesus and To Make Him Known"

This simple statement has huge ramifications that if played out will make a huge impact in our community.  Getting to know Jesus is the primary goal of every true believer.  This believer understands that the only way to defeat the constant pull and temptation of the enemy is to above all things love Jesus and pursue him with everything in us.  We see Jesus words addressing his followers with these words:

Luke 10:25-28 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” 27 He answered: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” 28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

As we grow in our love for Jesus it makes the world and it's lures grow more dim and better enables us to know Jesus at progressively deeper levels.  The old hymn says it best;

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

look full in his wonderful face,

and the things of earth will grow strangely dim,

in the light of his glory and grace"

As we truly place Jesus at the 'Center Point' of our life, the power of the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to live a life that's pleasing to Him.  This is the process of getting "to know Jesus" in our life so that we can then live a life of "making Him known"  in our community.

As we progressively and intentionally live out this 'Purpose Statement' in our lives, then our Mission "To Be Heavenly Effective Through Earthly Relevance" is in the process of being fulfilled, and we will hear Jesus say to us on that blessed day...

...‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’  Matthew 25:21
