Through Spirit-filled worship and Bible-centered teaching, we seek God and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, walking together as He continues to shape us.
Pastor Justin Brown and his wife, Karolyn, have spent the past 20 years serving in ministry together, and it's truly been a family calling. Along the way, they've had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles and walking with people through all kinds of seasons. They have three kids who are a big part of their life and ministry.
Before entering the ministry, Justin served in the Air Force, and that steady, grounded perspective still shapes the way he leads today. He believes the church should be a place where people can find real hope, healing, and connection, no matter where they're coming from.
Justin grew up in Texas ranch life, and while he still carries a bit of that southern grit, he and Karolyn are excited to now call Michigan home. At the heart of it all, Justin wants to help people take their next step toward Jesus and feel like they truly belong.
Karolyn (Kari) Brown serves as the Student Ministry Pastor at Center Point Assembly and brings a deep care for both the spiritual and emotional well-being of the next generation.
Kari is a licensed professional counselor and homeschool mom to three kids. She serves alongside her husband, Pastor Justin, and values creating spaces where people feel comfortable, known, and cared for.
She grew up in Texas and is now enjoying life in Northern Michigan, embracing this new season and the opportunity to serve such an amazing community.
Jackie Boog has been part of the Charlevoix community since 1986 and has faithfully served at Center Point Assembly since 1992. She currently leads worship with a heart for honoring the Lord and helping others connect with Him. Jackie has loved music since her early teens and has grown in her leadership through years of experience, mentorship, and a deep commitment to Christ.
Her passion is simple: worship is for an audience of One. Jackie's desire is to keep her heart focused on the Lord and follow His leading as she guides others in worship, all for His glory.
Jackie and her husband Larry have three children and three grandchildren.
Our deacons serve alongside our pastoral team, providing spiritual oversight and faithful leadership to our church family.
Our story goes back to 1947 when we started as Charlevoix Assembly of God. In the late 1970s, the church moved to its current home on Highway 66, just south of Charlevoix, and we’ve been here ever since.
In 2012, God gave us a renewed vision and a new name: Center Point Assembly. The name reflects our heart and mission, to place Jesus at the center point of everything we do, both personally and as a church family.
We’re clear about who we are and where God is taking us. As Scripture reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18), and God has given us a clear vision for this next chapter.
